Final Product

The final product had come out pretty well and the way I wanted. It felt nice to see my vision translated onto the screen exactly the way it was intended to be. We designed a poster for the film and then released it on YouTube.  Click here to view the Film Opening

Post Production

We completed our shoot and were ready to sit on the edit and sound.  Day 1 of our post production started with me making the rough edit of the entire opening. After creating the rough edit, we noticed that the runtime was around 5 mins 30 seconds. We decided to remove the entire first scene of where Karna receives his salary, so that the opening can become crisper and tighter. Now the opening begins with Karna receiving the package, which works better. Day 2 of our post production I sent the rough edit to Manoj Rishie, a friend of mine. He sat on the cut I gave him and did the foley. He used Final Cut Pro, so he had many sound fx in the software itself, which helped us make the sounds feel realistic and not artificial. Simultaneously, I was creating specific background scores using Logic Pro X for few of the scenes. We decided to finish the music and foley and lock the audio track first before working on the visual and color. Day 3 of our post production we had completed the ...

Day 2 of Shoot

We had 25 shots planned for the second day and again started at 9 am. We had to shoot 3 shots outside the delivery location and did so quite easily within half an hour. Then we had 24 shots planned inside the delivery location as the main scene of the film happens there. This took a while, as we had started to experiment with the camera and shots. We used the shot list as a base and tried different techniques on set which added time that we didn't account for. We had a lot of takes to get each shot right which also drained us out, but we are still happy with the output of the shots.

Day 1 of Shoot

The first day of Shoot was planned from 9 am to 6 pm at the office and the road.  We planned to shoot 6 shots in the office which we did from 9:30 am till 12:30 pm. The shoot went quite smoothly as we were fully planned and it was indoors. However it took much longer than we expected to shoot the 6 shots because of the actors' performances. We wanted to get it right and not compromise for anything less. So from next time we will be more prepared. From 2 pm we started to shoot at the road. We had planned 19 shots on the road. We struggled to shoot those 19 shots as it was outdoors and the weather and lighting was constantly changing. High winds and cloudy skies added more pressure and made us rush through our shoot. The winds also interfered with our mics as we planned on doing live recording for the dialogues and ambient noise as we found it more convenient than dubbing.
